Chazabeh Border Terminal
Chazabeh border terminal is placed in Khuzestan province, south-west of
Iran and in common border between Iran and Iraq. This border is 95 km far away
from Ahvaz, the center of Khuzestan province and the distance of this border to
Bostan city is 25 Km. The nearest city of the opposite country to this border
is Marzolemareh with 70 km distance.
In order to expand economic relations and transit of goods to Iraq, the necessity
of construction of this border terminal which causes to accelerate in
transportation affairs became important. This border terminal is known as
authorized official border by the act of cabinet on April 19, 2006.
Appropriate geographical situation of Iran and its strategic position in
the region, easy access to Imam Khomeini port installations, also appropriate
capacities and potentials of Imam Khomeini port have created many value
opportunities to provide fast and cheap transportation of goods to Iraq.
The comprehensive plan studies of chazabeh border terminal were approved
in the fifteenth meeting of organization council. Temporary site of this border
terminal with establishing 10 containers and 2 passenger hall is in progress.
The area land of this border is 12 hectares, the area of passenger hall
is 3700 square meters and the commercial hall is 1950 square meters. The
executive operations of this project started since 2007 and now are running. It
is to be noted that more than 73 billion rials have been cost for construction of
this border terminal.
