Milak Border Terminal
 
Geographical situation:
Milak border terminal is placed in south – east of Sistan Baluchestan province and in common border of Iran and Afghanistan. This border is beside Milak Bridge and across Hirmand River. The distance of this border to zahedan, the center of the province is 26.Km and zabol with 45Km distance is the nearest city to this border. It is to be noted that the nearest city of the opposite country to this border is zarang with 4Km distance. 
 
Construction Reasons:
Since early 2004 with respect to the importance of East corridor development in commercial field, Milak border terminal construction has been mentioned in the organization plan.
After studying and doing relevant planning in the field of goods transit from Chabahar to Milak (as East transit corridor of the state) and increase in Chabahar port capacity by the end of the forth year development plan the construction of this border terminal was prioritized. Also high volume of passenger and goods transit was the main reasons in construction of this terminal. This border terminal is known as authorized of official border by the act of cabinet on October 22, 2001.
 
International Relations:
According to the political development of Afghanistan and Iran's participation in reconstruction of mentioned country, also with the aim of boosting political relations of two countries, Iran started to implement common projects. Harat-Dugharun road construction, Milak bridge construction and Milak –zaranj road are the examples of Iran – Afghanistan common projects.
 
Technical features:
Milak border terminal has been constructed in a land with 13 hectares area, the passenger hall is 3250 and commercial hall is 3100 squares meters. According to the importance of trading in Milak border terminal, the commercial hall of this border terminal with the first priority has been constructed. It is to be noted that some 110 billion rials have been expended for construction of this border terminal.
