  Minister of road and transport of Iran participated in a joint commission session in a head of delegations consist of the heads of road ,rail, maritime , civil transportation organizations and both countries considered the ways of developing bilateral relations and transport cooperation. In this meeting Dr. Shahriar Afandizadeh the deputy minister of road and transport ministry and the head of RMTO headed road transport group working of Iranian council. Referring to road transport memorandum of understanding ,Afandizadeh said :this memorandum of understanding which signed by two parties officials ,respecting and giving suitable services to the pilgrims of both countries were considered as a priority. Afandizadeh informed about the finalization of international transport memorandum of understanding between two countries during next 6 months and added :both countries agreed toestablish common transport company in passenger and cargo sector with the aim of preparation and facilitation of international development between two parties. According to this report, Iran and Iraq are located in East-West Corridor , so developing transit and transport cooperation between two countries will facilitate road transit and transport success between Europe and Asia. It is to be mentioned that there are 7 border terminals between two countries that during last year about 3 millions of Iranian and Iraqi passengers passed through these borders . It is to be noted that regional transport cooperation session will be held with participation of Iran ,Iraq ,Pakistan , Afghanistan , Azerbaijan and Tajikistan near in future. |
